Addicting. If I had to sum pralines up in one word to someone who doesn't know what this sweet, southern delicacy is, it would certainly be 'addicting.' I fell in love with this insanely rich, sugary and buttery candy in Savannah years ago. The brown sugar just melts in your mouth. I really struggle to stay away from them. So while everyone is busy making their Christmas fudge, I'm working on my traditional pralines (even though there's never a bad time to make or eat them). They also make for nice little gifts because usually, most of our family and friends don't make them .
This is absolutely the recipe that you never knew you needed. When I think of my favorite comfort meal, this is the one. It's super simple to cook up, and even easier to enjoy. I know it's not the healthiest way to eat cabbage, but it's by far my favorite--
These biscuits were so soft, fluffy, and crumbly--like biscuit heaven. Making biscuits from scratch does involve a little more work than popping a can open and baking, but the process really is not bad at all. And seriously--can it get much better than a made-from-scratch biscuit? Not really. If you're a southern mama, you better have a good biscuit recipe! 😂
Once I realized how easy it was to make syrup, I never bought it from a store again. Really, it is so easy to just whip up while you are waiting for your pancakes to cook, and you are left with many more servings of it afterwards. So be sure to have a syrup bottle, to store extra syrup. It's a simple 2:1 ratio of sugar and water, so make as much or as little as you'd like. I have a feeling that you will be wanting to replace your usual syrup with this one from here on out.
